All right gang, ’tis crunch time!!
Well, if you ask me, this is really what makes it worthwhile: The excitement of multiple performances at our doorstep and the rush of getting everything ready, within a tighter than usual schedule. It brings the best in our musical abilities because the purpose is real. It makes us all care just a little bit more about the craft. Would you be surprised if I was to tell you that, I, as a conductor, feel that I too must rolled up my sleeves and sit down, and review the scores, trying to figure out ways to lead you an a better way and make you sound even better?
February is a busy month for us musicians, and it is just as well! Otherwise we’d all be sitting on our behinds, trying to perfect our latest macrame techniques, only this time, for real!! Nah! I say crunch time on option 1 is more fun, even by -40 or a snow squall!
