Time flies as we have fun learning these pieces. This was our Week 7 rehearsal, and our final sectional clinics. In the second half, with Sue, Dave, Piero, Errol and Pamela bravely taking solos, we played through the following:
Moondance (piece from previous session, for consideration in our community concert)
Puttin’ On The Ritz
Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (first half)
In March, we will work on tightening up the rhythms in our pieces as well as focusing on soloing, There will be opportunities for you to try out playing a solo in the safety of the music room. We will pull out a piece or two from the fall/past for each rehearsal, to see which ones we want to add for our community concert. The total number of pieces will include our fall repertoire, our current repertoire that is ready for performance, and a couple of pieces from past sessions (by vote) for a total of around 10 pieces.
For the April 17th concert, we will only play three or four pieces (15 minutes) from our current repertoire, and following the March 2 rehearsal we will vote on which pieces will make the cut for this concert.
