Items to Note (sent Sept. 8, 2017)

Hello Bytown Musicians,

It was great to see many of our new members, as well as some supportive returning musicians, at our Theory Crash Course this Tuesday, Sept. 5!  For those that could not make it, please don’t worry!  This meeting was just a jump start, and everything will be presented again, in your clinics and in band rehearsals.
Here are some items to note for our first week with our instruments:
When:  Tuesday, Sept. 19
Where: Brookfield H.S.
Time: 6:30-8:45 
Bring: instrument, method book, portable music stand, 
            reed players- reeds, brass players – rag-cloth for emptying water 
Arrive early (6 pm) to get oriented. Mike from St. John’s Music will have Essential Elements books($11) and collapsible music stands ($12) for sale (cash, correct change only. *Percussion books are $18.
Clarinets and Saxes: Buy reeds – one or two “Rico 2” if you have never played, and 2.5 for more experienced players. Always have 3-4 reeds in your case!

6-6:30   purchase books and music stands from Mike (St. John’s Music) either in the entrance lobby or staff room 142, set up music stand in clinic room
